The Regional Council of the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent is composed of 13 members, that is, the 13 mayors of the local municipalities.
The prefect is elected by his/her peers for a two-year term and is responsible for chairing the regional council meetings held in the Council Chamber of the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent.
