Volunteering 20 April 2020
Though it may not come as a surprise, it is still with regret, that the organizing committee of the 2020 edition of the annual Haut-Saint-Laurent Volunteer Awards Evening announces the cancellation of the event, which had been scheduled to take place on April 23, as part of National Volunteer Week. The members of the organizing committee would like to thank all those who contributed to the 31 nominations received this year, while specifying that the event has been postponed to 2021.
Following the evolution of government directives to counter the spread of COVID-19, and taking into consideration that the event usually brings together over 100 guests, the organizers have decided to postpone the event to April 22, 2021. This decision maintains the tradition of holding the event on the Thursday of National Volunteer Week.
A second call for applications will be launched at some point before March 1, 2021, and the first 19 candidates will join those from 2020. As such, the fifth edition of the Volunteer Awards Evening will celebrate the involvement of 50 volunteers from the Haut-Saint-Laurent over the two years.
A multitude of new superheroes are currently joining our volunteer forces, while others are taking over for those who now find themselves temporarily in quarantine, the organizing committee and its partners would like to thank all the volunteers from the Haut-Saint-Laurent for their involvement in their community.
