Transport 21 June 2018
The Department of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transportation Electrification wishes to inform the public that the reconstruction work on the bridge located on Route 138, over the rivière des Anglais, connecting the municipalities of Sainte-Martine and of Très-Saint-Sacrement, will begin on June 27th.
The work of an estimated duration of 34 weeks will spread over two years:
Complete reconstruction of the bridge in the same axis.
Refurbishment of the intersection of Highways 138 and 203.
New configuration of the intersection of Highways 138 and 203
The reconstruction of the bridge will cause the complete closure of Highway 138 from mid-July until next winter. Users will have to take the paths of detours that will be set up for this purpose (see map below). Due to the deviation of the vehicle traffic from Highway 138 West on the railway bridge, the bike path will also be closed in the area.
In addition, during the refurbishment of the intersection of Highway 138 and Highway 203, the road
203 will be closed for a little over a month in the Spring of 2019. Users will have to
take Route 138 and Mill Street to get around this obstruction.
Please note that this work could disturb the soundscape of the area. The Department is aware of the inconvenience caused by this work, which is necessary to ensure the functionality of the road network, and wishes to thank the citizens and the traders for their understanding.
