Saint-Anicet Municipality

Let's celebrate our volunteers!

For a 5th consecutive year, Vision Bénévolat du Haut-Saint-Laurent will be holding its annual Volunteer Awards ceremony. The organisation is now calling on the community to help celebrate and recognize the implication of Haut-Saint-Laurent volunteers in their communities.

The nomination period starts on November 20, 2019 and will end on March 1, 2020. Citizens, associations, organizations, businesses, institutions, schools and municipalities within the region are invited to submit the names of volunteers who have made exceptional contributions in their community by completing the form now available on the MRC website.

The 5th edition of the Haut-Saint-Laurent Volunteer Awards will take place on April 23, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of National Volunteer Week.

The Volunteer of the Year will have his or her name added to the distinguished list of volunteers who have been honoured since 2016 on the Leon Trophy.

The winners of the 2019 Haut-Saint-Laurent Volunteer Awards include:

  • Involved in a community organization: Mrs. Marielle Bourdeau;
  • Involved within her municipality: Mrs. Audrée Bourdeau;
  • Involved with an institution: Ms. Sarah Trépanier;
  • Family volunteering: the Trépanier family;
  • Company - Corporate volunteering: Caisse Desjardins de Haut-Saint-Laurent;

The strength of a community lies in its volunteers, whether they are involved in the success of events and activities, in community organizations, their municipalities, schools or even the health sector.

This event is made possible thanks to the many partners involved and generous donors.

In conclusion, as Mrs. Marielle Bourdeau, who will preside over the awards ceremony in 2020, so aptly explains, “volunteering means paying it forward, and this comes back a hundred times over for volunteers.” Why wouldn’t you seize this opportunity.
