The Government of Quebec's Aide d’urgence aux petites et moyennes entreprises (Emergency Assistance to Small and Medium-Sized Businesses) program is designed to provide access to capital as a means for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to maintain, consolidate or relaunch their activities. This program is one of several measures put in place to mitigate the current economic situation given such extraordinary circumstances.
A loan agreement was reached between the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (MEI) and the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent (MRC) on April 14, 2020, confirming the MRC's obligations towards the MEI. The amount allocated by the MEI to the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent to respond to requests for financial assistance from businesses within its territory is $668,605. The maximum amount authorized for a repayable loan to a business is $49,999.
