Call for nominations - Agricultural Advisory Committee

The MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent is currently looking for a volunteer candidate to sit on the Agricultural Advisory Committee.

The function of the Agricultural Advisory Committee is to examine any question concerning land use planning with regard to the permanent agricultural zone.

Its role is also to make the recommendations it deems appropriate to the MRC Council on the aforementioned questions.

To be eligible for this position, the candidate must meet the following requirements appearing in article 148.3 of the Act respecting land use planning and development (chapter / Loi sur l’aménagement et l’urbanisme (chapitre A-19.1).

  • Be a resident of the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent;
  • Not be an elected municipal official;
  • Not be a farm producer, within the meaning of the Farm Producers Act (chapter P-28) / Loi sur les producteurs agricoles (chapitre P-28).

In addition, the person must also:

  • Be 18 years of age and over;
  • Have knowledge in urban planning and land use;
  • Have knowledge of the territory;
  • Be able to read documents in French.

The committee generally meets once to four times a year, in the evening.
