September 29 is the date of the fourth and last special collection where all citizens of the 13 municipalities in the Haut-Saint-Laurent can bring their Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), Electrical Devices, Small Appliances and Electronics. If you live in Dundee, Elgin, Franklin, Godmanchester, Havelock, Hinchinbrooke, Howick, Huntingdon, Ormstown, Saint-Anicet, Saint-Chrysostome, Sainte-Barbe or Très-Saint-Sacrement, drop off your household material so that it is recycled or treated as not to harm health and the environment.

Please, have proof of residency in hand (driver's license or municipal tax statement)

Collected Products 

  •  Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
  •  Electrical devices and Electronics
  •  Metals (100 lb/50 kg or less)

Examples of what you can bring:

From the kitchen: cleaning products, ammonia, bleach, scouring powder, solvants, drain cleaner, floor wax, vegetable oil, microwave oven, toaster, blender, mixer, kettle, food processor, small dishwasher (maximum weight: 100 lb/50 kg)

From the bathroom: rubbing alcohol, peroxide, nail polish,  nail polish remover, thermometers, hair dryer

From the workshop: water-based paint (latex), oil paint (alkyde), metal paint, turpentine, all aerosol spray (cans and content), stain, varnish, oil (eg: linseed), lacquer, wood polish, solvents, thinners, glue/contact cement, caulking products, adhesives

From the rest of house: batteries (rechargeable or not), lighters, home heating oil, mineral spirits (lamp, home perfume), compact fluorescent bulbs, fluorescent tubes, electronics and accessories (TV set, DVD player, telephone, radio, computers video game console, mouse and keyboard, remote control, ink cartridge, etc.) and electric devices that are not exceeding 100 lb/50 kg (3 cu. ft. or less empty fridge and freezer, portable or window air conditioner, dehumidifier, water heater, vaccuum, etc.), objects made of metal (sink, bedframe, etc.)

From the garden/yard: fertilizer, fungicide, herbicide, insecticide, pesticide, algicide, pool chemicals (chlorine), veterinary products, propane tanks/butane cartridges, cement powder, sealants (driveway, roof, foundation, asphalt), concrete cleaner, BBQ, bikes

From the garage: used oil (motor, brake, transmission), oil filters, antifreeze, lubricant, coolants, brake cleaner,  rust inhibitor, car/care products, fuel (gasoline, diesel), car wax, rust remover, body compound,  car batteries, aluminum rims

Only household products will be accepted. Others products (from agricultural, industrial and commercial use) will be refused: products from commercial and industrial activities (paint, light tubes), expired pesticides for agricultural use, medication (recuperated in drugstores), large household appliances (exceeding 100 lb/50 kg), tires (recuperated in participating garages).
